We want to know about you, your business, and what you want from a website. That sounds simple enough; in fact, it is quite complicated. I am sure you have seen the commercials from some of those do-it-yourself website hosts. All you need, they say, is a good design and a website hosted by us and you'll suddenly be swamped with clients. That is hype. Without the proper knowledge of search engine optimization, without researching mid-volume/low competition keywords you'll never get ranked on Google, Bing, or Yahoo. You can forget about getting ranked on any of the hundreds of other search engines out there as well.
No, getting seen on the internet is not an easy chore. The competition is stiff, the space for recognition is very narrow. I just did a search for 'swimsuits' on Google. The first thing that strikes me is that there were 65.4 MILLION results returned. On the first page, the golden page if you will, a mere 10 organic websites, sites that did not pay to be on the first page, are found. In addition, there were 7 paid ads and a number of other paid placements appearing. The silver page, page 2, had similar results with 2 fewer paid ads. The bronze page, page 3, had only organic results. If you discount the paid ads, the 30 organic results found on the first 3 pages get the lion's share of the traffic. Research has shown that the attention span of the average search engine query hardly ever gets beyond page 3. So we are talking about 30 out of 65.4 million hits that have any chance of being found online.
Our job is to not only design a great website for you but to make sure you also get seen in an organic search. While we do not argue against paid ads, especially at the start, the organic search visitor it turns out is easier to convert into a customer than the searcher who clicked on a paid ad. So we engage in vigorous search engine optimization or SEO to drive your website to the top three pages based on carefully researched keywords. By finding hidden gems, keyword phrases that receive from 10,000 to 100,000 searches a month, gleaned from actual keyword phrases used by Google searchers, that also have a low competition factor based on how many websites use those specific keywords and/or engage in paid advertising for those specific keywords.
While it is truly not easy, it is the bread and butter of search engine optimization. Knowing how to find keyword phrases that will benefit your business is more than half the battle for getting seen on the internet. If you are getting seen, you will convert your share of visitors to customers.
